Corrosion is the process of gradual deterioration of materials through reaction with the surrounding environment. In other words, corrosion is the oxidation of metals under the influence of atmospheric conditions. Corrosion-resistant coatings protect metal components from damage caused by moisture, salt, oxidation, or exposure to various environmental and industrial chemicals. For corrosion-resistant coatings, VNC utilizes both barriers, such as corrosion inhibitors, and specialized coatings applied to metal substrates to provide additional corrosion protection. The Anti-Corrosion Primer series is a thermosetting epoxy-based powder coating with corrosion-inhibiting properties, designed to increase the corrosion resistance of steel components. Corrosion-inhibiting paints create a protective barrier coating that, in turn, delays the progression of the corrosion process. Passivation, which refers to the material, makes it "passive," meaning it becomes less sensitive to environmental factors such as air and water. These passive paints create a thin protective coating on the metal, preventing further corrosion. Anti-corrosion paints are designed as a primer for topcoats.
